The Niyamas, the 2nd limb of the practice, are valuable tools for nurturing happiness, self-confidence, and deeper connection.

The course was designed with approachability in mind: a 5 part program to give the learner time to practice and reflect on each Niyama. Each part’s theme is presented with a brief lecture followed by a guided meditation and yoga practice with the intent of allowing practitioners to integrate the principles on and off of the mat. We will spend time defining and considering real life applications of each Niyama and then apply classic mantras and practices to bring it to life. Your instructor — Diane Malaspina, an applied psychologist and yoga teacher — will give you a solid understanding of the Yoga Sutra’s niyamas and a familiarity to incorporate these themes into your meditation or yoga practice.

Create & Deliver Effective Yoga Workshops Online Course https://yogamedicine.com/product/create-deliver-effective-yoga-workshops-online-course/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/create-deliver-effective-yoga-workshops-online-course/#respond Wed, 18 Sep 2024 19:03:09 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=223231 Yoga Workshops can be a crucial part of what you offer as a teacher: a way to dive deep into a topic that your students are truly interested in. But when you are new to the process, it can seem complex. How will you select a topic and a venue, set a price, and market it to the students who will benefit the most?

In this course, Rachel Land will take you through the process step by step, offering a series of assignments to guide you through the decisions you’ll face at every stage. By the end of this online course, you’ll feel confident creating, planning and running an effective yoga workshop for your community.

Yoga Medicine® Teacher Connection Series: Sangha & Svadhyhya Online Course https://yogamedicine.com/product/yoga-medicine-teacher-connection-series-sangha-svadhyhya-online-course/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/yoga-medicine-teacher-connection-series-sangha-svadhyhya-online-course/#respond Tue, 09 Jan 2024 19:13:56 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=197868 Being a yoga teacher can be a fulfilling, enlivening, and rewarding job with the right tools, but it can also be tiring and lonely. At Yoga Medicine® we pride ourselves in educating our teachers to a deeper level so that they can be a valuable resource to their students, leaders in their communities, and have a long, fulfilling sustainable career. No one understands your job like other yoga teachers and yet in our local studios we rarely see or interact with each other. Training online is valuable as a resource to continue to learn and inspire yourself as a teacher, but it can lack the connection & support of other teachers found in our in-person experiences.

This gathering, created for Yoga Medicine® 500/1000-hour teachers, is meant to fill that gap and provide a supported experience to connect and reflect on where you are, what challenges are coming up, areas for motivation and creativity with a process to move you forward with clarity and support within the YM teaching community. This course is designed to be helpful for teachers feeling stuck, overwhelmed, unsupported, experiencing burnout symptoms, looking for inspiration, wanting to do more for their community, looking to grow their business, and seeking connection with other YM teachers internationally.

In this six, 1hr LIVE weekly session series led by psychologist Diane Malaspina, Ph.D, we will explore a different theme around tuning into what you need, your vision as a teacher, motivation and goals, resources and wellbeing, challenges and opportunities, and prioritization and integration. The end result of this ‘first of its kind’ series is to have a clear vision of how to create balance, connect to strengths, overcome obstacles, and find clarity in your work through self-reflection and teacher connection of shared experiences and ideas.

This is a guided gathering to support our YM teachers so you must have completed at least one training with Yoga Medicine® to enroll. We have purposely kept the cost low as an offering to our teachers, but will also limit enrollment to 50 teachers. Since this is an interactive support group without a detailed curriculum, manual, or exam there are no continuing education hours or teacher training hours for this; but there will be plenty of valuable information & support acquired.

Yoga for Hypermobility Online Course https://yogamedicine.com/product/yoga-for-hypermobility/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/yoga-for-hypermobility/#respond Thu, 19 Aug 2021 05:37:46 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=14099 Hypermobility, technically called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), is a group of inherited connective tissue disorders caused by various defects in the synthesis of collagen. EDS is a complex condition that often includes a constellation of seemingly disconnected symptoms, making it challenging to obtain a diagnosis. Since hypermobile people tend to self-select for movement modalities where they are potentially rewarded and praised for their extreme flexibility (like yoga!), it’s important for teachers to be able to pinpoint the characteristics of the condition and instruct these students in a safe manner that serves to mitigate symptoms, rather than exacerbate them. Yoga for Hypermobility, instructed by Jenni Tarma, is an online course designed to teach yoga teachers the practical tools to safely teach hypermobile students in group classes.
