Diane Malaspina, Ph.D. brings over 20 years of experience as a psychologist and coach to provide the research and psychological lens of burnout, recovery, and resilience. Our founder, Tiffany Cruikshank, L.Ac, MAOM, brings over 20 years of experience in Chinese Medicine to lend a different perspective & additional resources to train the nervous system for resilience. This course will also examine active recovery strategies, tools for antifragility, and yoga applications throughout that serve to burnout proof for future resilience.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to create an individualized burnout plan that can be used personally or as a yoga teacher seeking to support others who experience burnout. Traditional Chinese Medicine + Female Health Yoga Teacher Training | Module – Tulum, Mexico 2025 https://yogamedicine.com/product/traditional-chinese-medicine-female-health-yoga-teacher-training-module-tulum-mexico-2025/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/traditional-chinese-medicine-female-health-yoga-teacher-training-module-tulum-mexico-2025/#respond Tue, 06 Aug 2024 15:19:19 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=218862 We are so excited to return to a familiar destination, Maya Tulum in Tulum, Mexico, for a brand new offering: the Traditional Chinese Medicine + Female Health Yoga Teacher Training! This will be a combination of two of our favorite trainings bundled into one week of intensive learning! We will begin with our TCM curriculum for the first half of the week which will lead us into the Female Health curriculum to build on that information and finish off the week.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Discover the foundations of Chinese Medicine theory and master the skillful application of TCM within a yoga setting.

For over 20 years, our founder Tiffany Cruikshank has been intertwining the ancient practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine and yoga to empower thousands of students and teachers to observe the nuances and subtleties of the body on a deeper level and move towards balance.

Now, she’s put all of this invaluable information and experience into one game-changing training, specifically designed for teachers and healthcare providers alike seeking to expand their therapeutic toolbelt to more effectively guide students and clients on their unique health journeys.

In this comprehensive 25hr intensive experience, expect to gain a deep understanding of Chinese Medicine principles, their intersection with the art of teaching yoga, and how to thoughtfully apply their wisdom to support common dysfunctions, differential diagnosis and the creation of powerful treatment plans.

Female Health

Female health is an area that often gets brushed over in yoga with a few poses often featured as cure alls. This intricate system of yoga can have a powerful effect on supporting hormonal balance and fertility when approached from an individualized perspective with the phases of the cycle in mind.

This 25-hour yoga training examines the physiology of the female reproductive cycle from both a Western and Chinese medicine perspective. In this course we’ll dig into specifics on how to individualize the practice to support a variety of different female reproductive and hormonal issues as well as look at how to adjust the practice for different phases of the cycle.

We’ll decode specific strategies to support females trying to get pregnant including specifics on working with females using IVF and strategies to help prevent miscarriages; we’ll also briefly talk on male infertility. We’ll also look at the most common female reproductive issues including: polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, fibroids, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), dysmenorrhea (painful periods), amenorrhea (absence of periods) and menopause.

Shoulder: Anatomy, Dysfunction, & Application Yoga Teacher Training | Module – Cadiz, Spain 2025 https://yogamedicine.com/product/shoulder-anatomy-dysfunction-application-yoga-teacher-training-module-cadiz-spain-2025/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/shoulder-anatomy-dysfunction-application-yoga-teacher-training-module-cadiz-spain-2025/#respond Thu, 01 Aug 2024 23:44:02 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=218546 We are ecstatic to offer our newly updated Shoulder: Anatomy, Dysfunction, and Application Yoga Teacher Training this year with new info, research and techniques as we to return to one of our favorite destinations, the Suryalila Retreat Center in Cadiz, Spain! The shoulder curriculum is one of our core orthopedic modules along with the spine and hip modules – all of which are highly recommended for our advanced teachers.

Shoulder awareness and stability are required by so many foundational yoga poses like plank, chaturanga and downward dog, but these are not skills our students develop in daily life. Learning more about these lesser-known joints and how to use them effectively is a vital skill for yoga teachers. Advance your understanding of shoulder structure, anatomy and function, and learn to utilize yoga therapeutically to support healthy mobility, optimal function, and joint resilience.

Led by our founder Tiffany Cruikshank & Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialist Rachel Land, this 50hr in-person intensive training takes a deeper look at the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder joint as a basis for learning to effectively evaluate and work with a variety of ailments, including rotator cuff injuries, impingement, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, osteoarthritis, labral tears and more.

We’ll cover practical principles and work for the shoulders to eliminate pain, improve function, and increase freedom of movement. Expect insights and applications you can immediately put to use, as well as a subtler understanding of how breath, posture and even emotional state affect this area of the body.

We pride ourselves in bringing the content alive through relevant practices, lectures, mini sessions and reviews along the way to reinforce the information. After completing this training, you will leave with a robust understanding of the shoulder’s anatomy and how you can apply this knowledge to provide your yoga students with a more impactful, well-rounded approach to shoulder integrity within a therapeutic yoga setting.

If you’re a teacher dedicated to a higher standard of learning and looking to develop an extensive knowledge of the shoulder joint that you can immediately apply to both your teaching and personal practice... this training is for you!

This 50 hour retreat-style training at Suryalila Retreat Center allows you to immerse yourself in your practice and learning with Yoga Medicine.

Decolonizing Yoga: Tracing the History of the Practice Teacher Training | Online https://yogamedicine.com/product/decolonizing-yoga-tracing-the-history-of-the-practice-teacher-training-online/ https://yogamedicine.com/product/decolonizing-yoga-tracing-the-history-of-the-practice-teacher-training-online/#respond Tue, 18 Jun 2024 15:35:05 +0000 https://yogamedicine.com/?post_type=product&p=214282 The desire to “decolonize” yoga comes from a well-intentioned place where people seek to close the gap between the ancient origins of the practice and its contemporary applications, but what does it actually entail? Too often, we confuse decolonize to a return to the pre-colonial but, in the wisdom of the words of Frantz Fanon: “Decolonization is the veritable creation of new men. But this creation owes nothing of its legitimacy to any supernatural power; the “thing” which has been colonized becomes man during the same process by which it frees itself.”

In other words, decolonization can be thought of as a process of remembering, releasing and recreating. This training aims to provide creative and practical steps to engage in the process of decolonizing yoga. It recognizes the plurality of influences on yoga and traces the practice’s links with various cultural phenomena and sensory experiences. Our content is both broad and deep as it explore our understanding of yoga - and ultimately of ourselves - through artistic, auditory and unusual lenses.

Over six sessions, we will look at the intersection of yoga with a variety of art forms, from old-fashioned storytelling to new-fangled social media.

You will take away:

  • A rich and varied understanding of the ways in which yoga has interacted with society both historically and in the modern-day.
  • New and interesting ways to incorporate yogic ideas in day to day to life.
  • The ability to think critically and analytically about source materials and philosophy.
